The presidents of Panama and Argentina, José Raúl Mulino and Javier Milei, respectively, spoke on the morning of July 2 about finance, economy and politics. Mulino posted a video on his social network X in which Milei can be heard congratulating him and wishing him the best in the midst of the great challenges he must face.  Mulino then thanked the South American leader for the call he made to him from Argentina.  "For us, it is very important, especially in the change that you have made to Argentine politics, which has a lot in common with the change that I must make here to stop corruption and the party of millions that has put us in debt for 50 billion dollars," the Panamanian president explained to his counterpart.  He added that he was thus beginning his first day as president “with less than $50 billion in the bank.” In addition, Mulino explained to Milei that he will have to do a thorough cleaning. “I do not have the capacity to pass a law like the one you passed, but I would like to.”  Milei replied that he should tell the people what he received and make the adjustments, the population will support him. “That is what I could tell you from my experience,” he said.  Mulino insisted to Milei that he must make adjustments, especially to avoid losing the investment grade, which is very important for the country.  In the 3-minute, 34-second video, Mulino also told Milei that he had the support of the Panamanian business sector.  “Put your back into it and you will succeed,” Milei advised the new president of Panama.  At the end of the conversation, Mulino assured Milei that he would appoint a top-level ambassador in Argentina.
