The National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents, and the Family (Senniaf) conducts a tour of shelters to which it provides financial assistance, in order to verify their operation. In other words, its officials are now doing what they should have done before the first reports of abuse against minors in those shelters were made. It is very clear that positions in the Government are for friends, not for those who must render a service to the country. And this scandal has barely scratched the surface. Surely, with a thorough investigation, horrors will come out. We hope that at least this time the head of the Public Ministry (MP) will do more than just give us a speech about how well the investigation will be done, especially when we all witness that his presence has completely emasculated this entity.
