56 health care workers from the Rafael Hernández de David regional hospital, Chiriquí, who more than two weeks ago received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine , are infected with Covid-19  reports La Prensa.

The information was confirmed to La Prensa by the director of the Social Security Fund (CSS) , Enrique Lau Cortés, who reported that the 56 infected were sent to their homes, to comply with the regulatory isolation and that most are asymptomatic or with slight discomfort.

At the regional hospital in David, 1,770 people have already been vaccinated, according to Lau. Of them, as said, there are 56 confirmed infected, but the director of the CSS still does not know why.

In the Children's Hospital there are around 2,000 immunized officials, with 7 cases of infections after the vaccine.

This Tuesday, Lau said, he will travel to Chiriquí to verify the situation, receive a 40-bed field hospital donated by the United States government and evaluate the hospital capacity of the region.
