Panama acquires 600  ventilators as   COVID-19 cases surge

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Sunday, April  5  that it has acquired  600 more ventilators, additional beds and vital signs monitors as 187  new COVID-19 cases raised the total of infected patients to 1,988 with  54 deaths.

13 people have recovered.

There are 1,680 peop;e in home isolation and  241 hospitalized,  with 163 in wards and 78 in intensive care, reports  Lourdes Moreno,  Ministry director of Epidemiology
