The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced on Thursday, November 18, that for now the mandatory use of the mask is maintained as a tool to stop cases of Covid-19.

“December purchases are coming, stores crowds, Mother's Day and then Christmas and New Years; So I think we still have to handle ourselves with a mask for some time, ”Sucre said.

He stressed that we must wait a little longer to see the behavior of positivity and hinted that it is unlikely that the use of the mask will be more flexible in December.

Sucre highlighted the increase in cases that are being registered in some provinces and expressed concern when seeing that in the soccer game in Panama against El Salvador at the Rommel Fernández he observed many fans without masks.

“Asking the fans to take care of ourselves. I saw people in the stadium jumping, but that's not the problem;  I saw the vast majority without a mask and that worries us a little, "said Sucre.

The minister recalled that in some European countries that are registering an increase in cases of the new coronavirus, the first thing they have done is resort to the mandatory use of the mask again.
