The percentage of positivity in diagnostic tests for Covid-19 is almost six times higher in Panama than that recommended by the World Health Organization.

In the last epidemiological week - from December 27 to January 2 - this percentage - a key indicator in controlling the pandemic - was 28.1%, when the ideal is 5%.

In the recent report of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the epidemiologists of the Ministry of Health, it is seen that from the week of August 16 to 22, with the increase in tests, there was a progressive decrease in the percentage of positivity to reach 10.3% and 10.4%, in the last two weeks of October; however,in the last week (December 20-27) it reached 20.7%.
