Panama’s protected areas will continue to be closed, until further notice, due to the Covid-19 pandemic says the Ministry of the Environment (MiAmbiente), which detailed that the decision obeys the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health

MiAmbiente reported that it will continue with the tasks of protection, surveillance, and control of these areas, such as: Cerro Hoya National Park, Sarigua National Park, La Laguna de La Yeguada Forest Reserve and La Tronosa Forest Reserve, among other sites.

Access of visitors to all the protected areas of the country has been  prohibited,  since March 12 including  visits of cruise ships that arrive at coastal protected areas.
