After nearly seven months of shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic , Tocumen International Airport restarted international flights on Monday, October 12 with scores of passengers arriving in the early hours  to find 85% of  the airport businesses open.

Raffoul Arab. manager of Tocumen SA, confirmed  that on the first day of the "new normal" 80 daily operations were  scheduled to 36 cities in 20 countries, with seven   airlines providing service.

The airlines operating are Spirit, Wingo, Copa Airlines, KLM, United, Delta and Avianca.

The incoming and outgoing flights are from the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Guatemala, Argentina and Brazil, the Dominican Republic, among others.

From the early hours of this Monday, the movement of passengers began in the air terminal to board domestic and international flights.

Arab said that the reopening of the airport is taking place with strict biosafety measures and  the Ministry of Health is in charge of verifying that passengers entering the country have their negative swab certificate.

There are  three swabbing stations for those who do not have a negative test certificate. The tests applied take between 20 to 25 minutes. If there is a positive case, it is coordinated with the Ministry of Health for the application of the respective protocol.
