Panama and Panama Oeste restaurants will be able to reopen their doors from Monday Feb.8, but the 9:00 pm to 4:00 am curfew remains in place  and drinks can only be served with a meal said Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre on Tuesday, February 2.

The use of masks and face shields and a distance of two meters between tables is mandatory in all restaurants.

Restaurants will be able to serve customers in person until 7:00 pm But they will be able to serve through home delivery until 10:00 pm

Beaches and rivers will be accessible from Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm in the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste and Herrera. In these sectors, walks and the sale of liquor are prohibited.

The fatality rate in the country remains at 1.6%, being the second lowest in Latin America, the Minister said.

The minister stressed that Panama is coming out of its second wave, while there are other countries that are in their third and fourth wave of the disease.

Sucre said that there is a plan to increase the number of beds to care for patients, including the 300 beds of the Covid-19 Hospital, located in the City of Health.

The number of beds has also been expanded in Aguadulce, Chitré, David, Santiago, among other cities.
