The Panama  Dry Law introduced at the beginning of quarantine measures will end on Friday, May 8 with some restrictions said   Luis Sucre,  the country’s Deputy Minister of  Health on Wednesday, May 6.

."It will take effect on Friday, May 8, and will limit the number of purchases of alcoholic beverages and they can only be consumed at home," said Sucre.

He added that the lifting of the "dry law" will occur with restrictions, such as the prohibition of social gatherings.

he 'dry law' that prohibited the consumption, sale, and distribution of alcoholic beverages in Panama, was imposed on March 24

Panama to date is the only country on the American continent to impose the temporary prohibition law to "reduce crime and avoid crowds of people to stop the spread of the virus."

If Panama would like to keep the peace it should legalize marijuana. Less violence and protests. Population becomes more docile. When they bring back the alcohol there is going to be an uptick of domestic violence and other crimes.

Alcohol should be given freely to the people and heavily subsidized by the government. It is an important tool in the happiness of the society.

Ex-pats seem more concerned with buying alcohol than with any other aspect of the executive decrees.
