Weekend lockdown continues as 474 frontline staff contract virus
Panama’s total lockdown will be in place for the third weekend in a row on April 25 and 26 as authorities confirm that 109 health workers and 365 security agents have contracted the coronavirus
109 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 66 have been infected in their jobs, 40 by community transmission and 3 cases are under study.
Enrique Lau Cortés , director of the Social Security Fund (CSS), said that of the total number of infected workers, 21 are nurses, 17 doctors, 11 cleaners, 8 nursing technicians, 6 pharmacy and 3 administrative staff.
Security Minister Juan Pino, reorts that there are 365 infected security agents
