María Corina Machado speaks out about Returning to Venezuela: “I am Determined to Return Home to be with our People.”

María Corina Machado again referred to her possible return to Venezuela and assured that she is determined to return to the country to accompany Venezuelans in a process of national reconstruction.  The democratic leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner published a message on Tuesday, September 29, thanking US Senator Rick Scott pictured below for his support and highlighting the importance of Venezuela moving towards a scenario of transparent presidential elections. 

”I am determined to return home to stand with our people and work with all those who are ready to rebuild our nation,” Machado said in the post, which was shared on her social media.  In the same message, Machado argued that a “free and democratic” Venezuela, based on transparent presidential elections, serves the interests of both Venezuelans and the United States and would allow millions of citizens abroad to return to the country.  “We are prepared and eager to lead this new chapter, forging a strong and lasting alliance with the United States and the free world,” she added. 

Florida’s US Senator Rick Scott: “I just had a very good phone call with Maria Corina Machado today.  She has the right attitude, aptitude, and above all the support of the people of Venezuela to make the progress in civil society that leads to elections and the establishment of a fully democratic and prosperous republic. She’s prepared to return to Venezuela peacefully and constructively, and she’s willing and ready to sit down with those currently holding power, including Delcy Rodríguez, as well as all relevant actors in the public and private sector to help build a better future for Venezuela. Her number one priority is freedom and prosperity for the people of Venezuela. Thank you Donald Trump for being engaged and working to help make this possible. Thank you Marco Rubio for your continued work on this.  

Nothing good in Venezuela now or in the future would be possible without your efforts. You have ended a threat to the US but you also are improving the lives of the Venezuelan people and restoring an ally.  The best thing for everyone right now is for María Corina Machado to be in Venezuela. In every state in her homeland and among all social groups, the people are looking to her for leadership and support. They want her there to help build the future. Her leadership will be great not only for the United States, but countries around the world. She fights for peace, prosperity, and democratic freedom. That is what Venezuelans deserve and I am proud to work with her. I am Florida’s US Senator Rick Scott and I approve of this message.“

Delcy Rodriguez needs to go to jail and pay for her crimes! She’s the reason why Venezuela is basically in ruins. The Trump administration needs to finish the job before Venezuela burns. Venezuelans are fed up and willing to take the streets until democracy is restored.
