The National Police has an explanation for the crimes that have shaken the country in recent months and days: their own successes. This explanation was offered by the agency’s director, Jaime Fernández, in an interview with news media, in which he outlined the criminal structures operating in Panama and defended the police offensive against drug trafficking and gangs.

“April was a month in which we began to see the results of the success of these seizures,” he said when asked about the bloody April that left 62 murders throughout the country and hit mainly the district of San Miguelito and Alcalde Díaz, a corregimiento north of the capital.  This is an ongoing story……please check back.
