Panama’s  Ruben Blades wins 11th Grammy

 

Panamanian singer-songwriter Ruben Blades picked up his 11th Grammy Award at the 65th edition of the awards program in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

He won the award for Best Latin Pop Album together with the Brazilian group Boca Livre for their work “Pasieros”.The salsa legend’s previous awards include the best tropical album and the best tropical jazz album.

Rubén Blades competed in his category with Christina Aguilera, Camilo, Fonseca, and Sebastián Yatra.

He thanked the Brazilian group Boca Livre for the Grammy on his social networks.

“To my colleagues and friends from the BOCA LIVRE group from Brazil, my congratulations and hugs for this well-deserved recognition of your talent,” Blades wrote.

The Panamanian also sent a message: What sells the most is not necessarily what represents the best quality. That is what proves the result that we are grateful for today. Thank you Academy voters for supporting us.”
