OPINION: Fired for doing their job
The President of the Republic has the right to choose who he wants by his side to govern; he has the right to create a team that, by virtue of the best interests of the country and its inhabitants, represents him before the rest of the Nation. And in theory, the ruler should look for the best men and women –suitable professionals with integrity– to offer them the honor of contributing to the aggrandizement of our country.
But in practice, the president has made a change in his cabinet that frankly leaves much to be desired, since the president must remember that we all expect the best performance from him and from his cabinet. However, valuable professionals have been fired from his work team and did nothing more than fulfill their work.
It seems that the profile that must be filled to occupy a government position does not matter, what matters is that when having to do the wrong thing, do not ask why, but when, yesterday, or today?
Mr. President, yours is the right to choose who you work with, and ours is the right to evaluate your selection and the supposed work that your chosen ones do. Then don’t complain. – LA PRENSA, Oct. 12.
