Partying backlash – 1,352, traffic violators ticketed
By early Sunday afternoon, March 6, 1,352 Panama drivers were clutching tickets for traffic violations. For many there was little else to clutch as 172 cars were towed away, and some drivers were sitting in police cells.
A police report, said 270 speeding tickets were handed out, and 139 motorists tested positive on the breathalyzer and were charged with drunk driving.
Two traffic fatalities, away from carnival routes were also reported.
