Global Bank Tower suffers 6th evacuation
The Global Bank Tower on Calle 50 continues to provide problems for its tenants and passing motorists with evacuations on two successive days this week.
According to the press office of the fire department. damage occurred on Wednesday due to an electrical leak, and Thursday’s evacuation was the result of heating of newly installed breakers.
In both cases, damage to the building set off alarms that led to hundreds of workers exiting the building., so we proceeded to the evacuation of workers.
Thursday’s incident, occurred at 8:30 am, and firefighters attended six people who had nervous breakdowns, and another worker, with a pacemaker, was taken to Santo Tomas hospital, said Iran Ponce, of the Fire Department.
The latest evacuation was the sixth emergency registered in the building this year, caused by electrical problems and a chemical spill, firefighters said.
