Former First Lady urges Varela to unite his party
A FORMER First Lady of Panama, has urged Panamenista leader and presidential candidate Juan Carlos Varela, to reach out and unite his party.
Ana Mae Diaz widow of of the late former President Guillermo Endara, in a Channel 2 TV interview said "I would recommend Varela to come down a bit, and try to join people together They are giving you the opportunity. Put your hand on your heart and look for those who are waiting for you," he said.
Diaz said that before he died her husband said the Panamenista Party in the hands of Varela was not being handled properly and he could make it disappear.
She said the divisions evident in the group showed Varela is not listening to people.
Diaz said she's not being paid to play games to attend meetings with Panameñistas who have met with President Ricardo Martinelli.
She said she keeps in touch with the president by email, giving her positive and negative opinions andadded that she is not registered with any political party and is dedicated to her family, especially her mother.
