Chamber of Commerce seven point education plan

 PANAMA’S Chamber of Commerce and Industry has come up with a seven point plan for improving the country's educational system over the next five years.

Irvin A. Halman, chairman of the 2014-19 Agenda Committee says they should be taking advantage of opportunities that the country has and benefit from what developed nations have obtained having achieved excellence in education system performance.

According to him, this will result in equity for the population, sustainable development and competitiveness.

The educational committee of the has presented seven proposals for the .Country Agenda to address the educational system among.

1. Achieving a political commitment before the election as a framework for support for the route that must be followed in education during the next administration.

2. Designate trained professionals at the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA), the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) and the National Institute of Vocational Training for Human Development (INADEH), away from politics and who are able to carry out sectoral policies.

3. Establish spaces for dialogue and consensus in the transitional period of government as well as state policies on education that will help to improve the quality of education.

4. Strengthen the relationship between companies, universities, the INADEH and schools to influence the relevance of curricula, teachertraining, technical and vocational training and job placements for graduates from the education system.

5. Establish accreditation mechanisms that help strengthen the system of higher education and technical and vocational training through universities and training institutes.

6. The creation of an Independent Education Observatory formed in partnership with government agencies and representative of organizations from society.

7. Review the use and distribution of Educational Insurance for its application to be effective and to the benefit of teachers, students and workers.
