Alleged secret videos of Berlusconi and Martinelli in Panama
REVELATIONS of videotapes of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi allegedly filmed with prostitutes in Panama and footage of President Ricardo Martinelli are described by the presidential spokesman as another chapter of an invented novel.
The expose, published in major Italian newspapers on Friday, December 18, comes from a witness before the Italian prosecutors investigating Valter Lavítola the fixer between the Government of Panama and conglomerate Finmeccanica.
The information was released on Friday by major newspapers, including La Repubblica and Corriere della Sera says La Prensa.
On Friday Lavítola was notified of a new arrest warrant against him for corruption and attempted extortion of Impregilo, the Italian construction company that agreed to build a children's hospital in Veraguas if it won the tender for Panama Metro. The work was not awarded to the Italians, but the Brazilian Norberto Odebrecht.
La Repubblica reported that the witness who made the new revelations is Angelo Capriotti, president of Svemark , the Italian company that planned to construct of modular prisons for the Panamanian government in exchange for $176 million .
According to Capriotti, Lavítola would be the author of the videos using hidden cameras in which Berlusconi appears with prostitutes and Martinelli using drugs in 2010 .
Capriotti said, however, that he never saw the videos, but he knows the contents of these thanks to Mauro Velocci , Svemark representative in Panama. and main witness of Italian prosecutors investigating bribery in the failed building of modular prisons.
Martinelli, challenged by the course of investigations in Italy has repeatedly discredited Velocci, calling him "addict" and "cocainero says La Prensa.
Secretary of State Communication, Luis Eduardo Camacho, said that this is another chapter of the novel invented by Panamanians and Italians.
