Crane beam falls on medical center

A beam from a crane fell on the sixth floor of the Paitilla Medical Center ton Friday October 3. There are no reports of injuries

.Armando Mocci, a dermatologist, said the incident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. He said he heard a noise that resembled “legos collapsing” followed by a shudder on the sixth floor, reports La Prensa

He said he rushed into the hallway and found a large amount of debris and electrical cords on the floor of the waiting area, as well as a hole about a meter in length in the roof. The center was evacuated.

The beam had fallen from a crane working on a nearby building. Firefighters and officials from the Society of Engineers and Architects are investigating.
