Fines up to $150 for misuse of masks on the Metro
Passengers who do not wear or misuse masks intended to combat the spread of covid-19 on Panama Metro will face fines of $100 or $150, said the administration on Thursday, October 22.
The Metro reported that the passenger regulations were modified in several points, which include protection standards to prevent the spread of the virus.
“Any user who does not use or improperly uses the mask within the facilities, while it is mandatory, by instructions of the health authorities, will be subject to a penalty,” says the Metro.
“It is established as an obligation of the users that, if recommended for public health reasons, they must try to remain silent during the trip within the trains of the Metro lines, avoiding any activity that leads to this action”.
The Metro says that these and other actions are taking place as part of the measures that have been taken to stop the advance of the virus within this mass transportation system.
