Sinaproc calls for extreme caution by weekend bathers
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) has issued a warning for weekend beachgoers and asked bathers to exercise extreme caution due to waves and rip currents until May 28.
The areas under surveillance will be:
Eastern Pacific: Gulf and Bay of Panama with waves between 1.2 to 1.5 meters high.
Central Pacific: Los Santos, coasts of Veraguas and Coclé with waves between 1.4 to 1.9 meters high.
Western Pacific: Gulf of Chiriquí with waves between 1.3 -1.4 meters.
Likewise, based on reports from the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama, there will be precautionary maritime conditions due to the increase in waves in the Pacific due to rip currents that could generate periods of risk for different activities in coastal marine areas.
The entity warns to exercise extreme caution for bathers, and artisanal boats and to follow the recommendations of the safety statements at sea and on the beach.
