Six Cell Phones Were Found in an Official La Joya Prison Vehicle: A Guard at was Arrested

The General Directorate of the Penitentiary System reported the arrest of a guard from the La Joya Penitentiary Center, after six cell phones were found in the institutional vehicle he was driving.  According to the prison, the situation was detected through monitoring carried out by the cameras of the Penitentiary Operations Center (COP), where unusual behavior was observed on the part of the official.  

Following the alert, security protocols were activated and the vehicle was inspected, in which the mobile devices were found.  The custodian was apprehended and, along with the seized evidence, was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities for the development of the corresponding investigations.  The General Directorate of the Penitentiary System did not provide further details about the case, while the investigations to determine responsibilities continue.
