When Will the People of Panama and Tourists be Able to Swim in the Panama Bay and Hike and Bike Under the Canal?

The bay is expected to be ready for recreational use if we all do our part. The City is still working on the idea of a walkway under the Panama Canal.

Major cities around the world, such as Sydney and Paris, took at least 30 years to make their rivers suitable for recreational use. In Panama, the Panama Bay cleanup project has been underway for 25 years, and the question that remains is: when will we be able to take a dip in its waters?

That practice of swimming in the Bay officially changed in 1991, when the then mayor, Mayín Correa, banned swimming in the waters of the bay as a health safety precaution due to pollution and the cleanup required. How about the recent idea about a tunnel under the Panama Canal for walking and biking.
