San Miguelito Mayor Hernández Thanks Mulino for Support in Waste Collection in San Miguelito

Irma Hernández, the mayor of San Miguelito, posted a video on social media in which she thanks President José Raúl Mulino for the support he will provide starting January 1, 2026, to address the serious garbage collection crisis in that district.  Hernández indicated that starting January 1st, he will receive 40 dump trucks, 20 backhoes, a couple of compactors and another couple of grid trucks to continue the Cleaning Mission, which is being carried out by the environmental management department of that mayor’s office.

“We will work together with the City Council to provide answers to the residents. We will receive more equipment, more personnel, more trucks, more routes, and more frequency to understand the crisis,” Hernández summarized. Hernández begins the video by thanking “our president of the republic, José Raúl Mulino, and the Secretary of Goals, Jose Ramón Icaza, since they have provided the district of San Miguelito with the support of the Urban and Domestic Cleaning Authority (AAUD) starting on January 1st.”

According to the mayor, the support “responds to the multiple conversations I have held with the Central Government since I arrived at the Mayor’s Office of San Miguelito.  “I remember in February when we formally invited different authorities to the Municipal Council and a presentation was made about the needs of San Miguelito.  He also said that the meeting addressed “the lack of resources and capacity we had and the full support of the Central Government to be able to face this reality, answers that we are hearing today.”  Furthermore, they showcased “the 200 critical points we have identified, combining the technological efforts we have implemented to be able to provide a response to our neighbors.”
