Nine Iranian Migrants Found Aboard Two Taxis in San Félix, Chiriquí Province Panama

The Panama National Police reported that two taxi drivers were arrested while transporting nine Iranian migrants in San Félix, Chiriquí. Police authorities said the arrest took place in the Las Matas sector, in the regional area of the San Félix district. It was also reported that there were two minors in the group of migrants. In addition, it was reported that all of them were travelling with passports without an entry stamp into the country.
Luis Martínez, deputy chief commissioner of the Regional Police Zone, reported that the arrest occurred after receiving a citizen alert and that the incident was immediately verified. The National Police said that the foreigners were placed at the disposal of the National Migration Service for the corresponding procedures and that the detained persons were taken before the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
